Condition: FAIR
This auction is for a Combination Classroom Area/Office Area Modular Building. This portable was built by SCOTSMAN, the tags show Nov. 1980 as the MFR year with serial #’s 2003355 & 2003356. Measurements for the classroom area are 979sq. ft. and for the office area 358sq. ft. This portable appears to be in fair condition and is currently unused. There are two HVAC units located on the west end of the modular (operational unknown), and there is interior lighting. The roof on the unit has leaks. Items were previously hung on the walls, and the flooring is well used. The unit is in overall fair condition and does not include any furnishings or equipment other than noted above and is being sold “as-is” with no guarantee or warranties. This building is ready for pick up. Winner of this auction must pick up the unit by March 30th, 2026. If the unit is not picked up by the winning bidder by the deadline the college has the right to offer it to the next highest bidder without a refund. Please do not bid on this item if you are unable to pick up/transport/move the building.
Modular is located in the Northside of the football stadium B5
Prior to pick-up, the College will disconnect all utilities (water, power, phone, data, fire alarm, sewer) as needed for safe pick-up.
College Facilities will also be onsite when building is removed to ensure safe removal and avoid any damage to college property.
Winning bidder is responsible for:
- Removing the building from campus by March 30th, 2026.
- All costs associated with the safe removal and transportation of the modular building.
- Coordinate pick-up of the modular building with Facilities within ten (10) days of bid closing and payment; complete pick-up by March 30th, 2026.
- Site working hours are 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Monday-Friday, Saturday by arrangement only and closed on Sunday. All work to be scheduled within these hours.
- Removal of ramp (demo or take with the building)
- Removal of any trash or debris created in the removal of the building. (building footprint)
- Any City permits for traffic control while removing (no permits are required for work on campus)
- No rehab of the building footprint (site surface) is required, and it can be left “as is” once swept clean of debris
- Campus Facilities does not have equipment that can be used or loaned. Winning bid must supply their own equine to move the building.
PayMac, handles all payments for East Los Angeles College. Payment for an awarded item must be received within 5 business days of close of auction.
Current Los Angeles County sales tax rate shall be added to all purchases made. The buyer shall add and include the sales tax amount when making payment.
Buyers Premium: A 9% Buyer Premium will be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction to collect payment.
All sales are final. Public Surplus will notify buyer of receipt of payment via email. Buyer must remove auction item(s) from said agencies premises within 5 business days of notification by Public Surplus of receipt of payment and as scheduled by the listed Auction Contact. Pick up hours are by appointment only. Successful bidder will be responsible to remove the item at the scheduled pick up time. If item is not removed at the scheduled pick-up time, East Los Angeles College has the right to move to the next bidder without offering a refund. The payment receipt must be presented at the time of pick up or the said agency will not release the item to you.
Bid Deposits: East Los Angeles College may require bid deposits to ensure fairness and equity to all buyers as a way to decrease default bidding.
