[ View/Ask ]CalVans employees are prohibited from bidding on CalVans surplus vehicles. Any officer, agent, vendor, contracted employee or employee of CalVans that is responsible for surplus declarations, has privileged information regarding the item/equipment or the value thereof, that is not available to all prospective bidders, or is assigned to the organization having custody of the surplus property shall not directly, or indirectly, submit a bid or purchase surplus personal property.
All items must be paid within 5 days of notification of award; otherwise bid may become invalid. Sold as is with no guarantees. All sales are FINAL.
Vehicle service records are NOT available. As a condition of sale, purchaser acknowledges that vehicles service records, including a smog certificate, will not be provided prior to auction or be distributed after auction.
Buyer is responsible for pick up. CalVans will not ship.

Bid Deposits: CalVans may require bid deposits to ensure fairness and equity to all buyers as a way to decrease default bidding. The credit card limit per transaction is $4,000.00. For payments larger than this amount, follow the instructions listed under Wire Transfers.
The vehicle may require VIN verification from DMV.

**PLEASE NOTE: STAFF WILL NOT BE AVAILABLE TO ASSIST BUYERS WITH THE LOADING OR REMOVAL OF VEHICLES, EQUIPMENT, OR ITEMS.** Successful bidder will be responsible to provide all labor and equipment needed to safely remove.
Vehicle Sales: "CalVans" does not warrant the conformity of vehicles to the requirements of the California Vehicle Code. Pursuant to California Vehicle Code 24007.5 notice is given that all buyers of vehicles must obtain a certificate of compliance for smog control devices prior to registration. The document certifies the vehicle complies with applicable Health and Safety Code requirements. Purchases by dealers and vehicles sold for dismantling or for exclusive off-highway use are exempt from this requirement. SALES TAX, if applicable, is to be paid to DMV when registering the vehicle.

California Vanpool Authority may require a bid deposit.
PayMac handles all payments for California Vanpool Authority. Acceptable forms of payment are: Wire Transfer or Credit Card. NO CASH, CHECKS, OR MONEY ORDERS WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Payment for an awarded item must be received within five (5) business days after notice of award.
California Vanpool Authority will charge sales tax. The tax rate will be calculated at the time of bidding. When sales tax is included, the buyer shall add and include the sales tax amount when making payment.
A Buyers Premium of 10.5% will be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction for payment collections. This premium if applicable will be visible during the bidding process and added to the total bid.
All sales are final. Public Surplus will notify buyer of receipt of payment via email.
The successful bidder will be responsible for pick-up of item(s) from the agency's premises. Pick-up must occur within ten (10) business days after notification of award. The notice of award, payment receipt, and personal identification must be presented at time of pick-up, or the item will not be released.

The successful bidder will be responsible for packing, and/or loading any item(s) at pick-up.
