Note: Auction of 35 Salvage Vehicles; sold as one LOT.
Please note the attached affidavit (PDF below the pictures) that must be signed by the winning bidder. Payment must be made by the winning, licensed bidder.
**Vehicles are sold for scrap and parts only and are not to be returned to street usage.**

Bidding is restricted to buyers who have a scrap processing license, automotive rebuilder's license or automotive parts recycling license. Prospective bidders must submit this license and their Public Surplus username by email to erichickenlooper@thepublicgroup.com before placing any bids. All licenses must be submitted at least 24 hours prior to the auction’s closing. Licenses submitted within 24 hours of the auction close may result in the bidder not being permitted to participate.
Property must be paid for within (5) days of auction award, and removed from our location in Maywood, Illinois within fifteen (15) business days of auction award. We will notify the winning bidder once all vehicle documents have been released from the Director Of Procurement and schedule the vehicle pickup.
The buyer will also provide all appropriate licenses, including scrap processing license, automotive parts recycling license. Buyer must comply with all applicable sections and subsections of 625 ILCS 5/Chapter 5, Articles 3, 4 & 5 of the Illinois Vehicle Code including, Sections 5-301, 5-302, 5-401.2, 5-401.3, 5-402.1, 5-403, 5-403.1, 5-501, 5-502, 5-503 & 5-504.
Photos are a sample representation of the scrap vehicles being offered for auction. Bidders are encouraged to review the scrap vehicle inventory list (attached below) prior to bidding.
**This auction is sold as is. Some vehicles are missing numerous parts—including, but not limited to, mufflers, engines, transmissions, mechanical and electrical components, and interior parts. Not all vehicles are complete, and some are damaged; therefore, we have provided photos of each vehicle. Please note that vehicles may still contain fuel, oil, radiator antifreeze, and batteries.**

Forest Preserves of Cook County will charge sales tax. When sales tax is included, the buyer shall add and include the sales tax amount when making payment. All vehicles sold will be assessed sales tax to the winning bidder and will be added AFTER the auction ends.
A Buyers Premium of 10% will be added to the final sale price with a $1 minimum charge per auction for payment collections. This premium will be visible during the bidding process and added to the total bid.
All sales are final. Public Surplus will notify buyer of receipt of payment via email.
The successful bidder will be responsible for pick-up of item(s) from the agency's premises. Pick-up must occur within fifteen (15) business days after notification of award. The notice of award, payment receipt, and personal identification must be presented at time of pick-up, or the item will not be released.
